Technical Manager - Type Approval & Passive Safety

An exciting new role has come up with our client in the automotive sector for a Technical Manager to lead the team on Type Approvals and Passive Safety. This role sits within a member organisation who work to support and promote the benefits of the automotive industry in the UK and abroad.

The role will lead the specific discipline to develop views and positions working with member companies, colleagues and stakeholders, and representing members' views to government and other stakeholders at UK, EU and UN level.

Key responsibilities within the role will be to provide influential expertise on core dossiers and lead related regulatory work at UK, EU and UN level, supporting departmental objectives and services and business strategy. In addition, this role will liaise and consult with member companies, government and key stakeholder on all relevant subjects and documents, to solicit member input to create an evidence base and draft influential proposals, positions, responses, papers and presentations as required.

This is a niche opportunity for candidates who have worked in a technical capacity and are well versed and expert in Type Approvals and Passive Safety with the automotive industry.

Candidates will be degree qualified in engineering, ideally automotive but will have experience within the automotive sector or government or regulatory bodies acting as a technical lead or in practical engineering or project management capacities.

The role whilst technical will require good communication skills to liaise with industry representatives and key stakeholders with an ability to present as required at events to industry peers.
