Sustainability Consultant
£35,000 - £45,000 / Birmingham
Are you a budding thought leader within the field sustainability and up to date with current guidance and best practice? Are you forward looking and able to identify business opportunities associated with changing policy, standards and legislation and take this through to support business development within sustainability, looking for a great new role?
We're looking for a Sustainability consultant to join a growing team who are based in Birmingham and who manage projects around the UK. They are flexible on location and have adapted to a flexible working environment to include working from home during the current pandemic, as well as flexibility in more normal times. The role
Your responsibilities will be;
- Leading, supporting and delivering ongoing and new Energy Assessments to a variety of clients and sectors.
- Experience of the delivery of BREEAM and BREEAM AP project proposals and tenders from the team.
- Ability to complete BREEAM Pre-Assessments
- Produce Commercial Energy Performance Certificates
- Building Modelling for Net Carbon Zero Reporting
- Residential Carbon Modelling and SAP calcs
- Supporting business development activities for the team in relation to Energy and Sustainability.
- Supporting the delivery of project administration and financial management from the team.
- Supporting works in carbon LCA (embodied, construction and operational)
- Supporting sustainability and energy statements
- Feasibility Reports for renewable installations
- Support all Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers and Building Surveyors in advising, directing and reporting on a host of construction and refurbishment projects.
Requirements
You must have;
- Relevant degree and/or masters
- At least 5 years of previous work experience in the field, ideally at senior level for the last 12 months.
- Relevant Environmental qualifications (CEnv, MIEMA, MEI or equivalent required)
- Licensed in NDEPC, DEC, SAPs: commercial, public, education, multi-residential, and bespoke.
- BREEAM qualification ideal but not necessary
- Understanding and/or experience of LEED and WELL, CfSH and HQM
- Understanding and/or experience of SBTi, Carbon Disclosure Projects, GHG Protocol Reporting, SECR, Scopes of Emissions and
- Understanding and/or experience of energy modelling i.e. SBEM and SAP, to Net Carbon Zero level
- Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills
- Experienced and comfortable in liaising with, engaging and presenting to senior business leaders, one-to-one or operating as part of a design team in facilitated workshops.
- Confident in meeting and speaking with clients, leading meetings and E&S Workshops
- Confident and able to cross-sell complimentary E&S services
- Confident in preparing and delivering presentations and training.
- Candidates should hold a full UK drivers' licence.
