Allen & York are excited to be working with a global retail provider who are looking to recruit an Environmental and Sustainability Manager to sit in their UK Operations Team. They are looking for a driven, ambitious individual to join their team to oversee their environmental operations and certifications.
In this role, your time will be divided across two London sites which are home to over 700 retailers. It requires two days at each site per week, so you will be working four days a week. Working across different sites, your excellent organisational and communication skills will enable you to work and engage efficiently with various internal and external stakeholders. There are opportunities to bring your expertise to other areas in the business and you will even have the chance to get involved with the planning and implementation of their new CSR strategy.
You will bring your knowledge and experience of environmental legislation, maintaining ISO14001 certifications and managing Environmental Management Systems to uphold the environmental standards of the sites. Ideally, you will have experience with BREEAM, but support will be provided in this area. You will be responsible for maintaining the legal environmental register using Barbour and will be expected to keep up to date on environmental legislation and make relevant changes. Your extensive experience in maintaining ISO14001 certifications will ensure both sites are up to standard for external audits which you will oversee.
With your energetic approach and strong sense of initiative you will highlight opportunities for environmental improvements across different areas within the business as well as industry recognition or awards. You will engage and educate teams on the environmental aspects that you will be responsible for. This role encompasses a large and varied programme of work requiring a hands-on approach and someone with strong influencing and persuasion skills to get things done.
If you have experience in maintaining ISO14001 certifications and strong knowledge of environmental legislation along with an enthusiastic, 'can-do' attitude, you might be a perfect fit. This is a contract role for at least 12 months and a competitive day rate is on offer.
