As Part of the Development team you will have the opportunity to work with private and public sector clients, architects, planners and other property professionals across all sectors throughout the development life cycle.
In the role of Principal Transport Planner / Engineer you will provide services from site feasibility through to completion, undertake Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, support Environmental colleagues in preparing Environmental Impact Assessments, and provide key transport inputs to the development of Travel Demand Management Strategies, Preliminary and Detailed Designs, Spatial Plans and Masterplans.
You will work on exciting projects of differing scales from small residential schemes to the major mixed-use developments that are forming the Olympic legacy in Stratford.
As the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven background in development related transport analysis and assessment, with wider experience in project management and supervisory skills. It is expected you will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as experience in client fronting and negotiation with highway authorities.
To be successful in this role you will be someone who is enthusiastic about working on a range of projects which support development at various stages of its life, particularly in light of the evolving transport planning, behavioural and technology landscape in which you will work.
You will provide support to Directors on technical, managerial and financial matters, while taking a leading role in the delivery of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Masterplans and other technical reports to support development or transport strategies for local authority clients.
As a senior member of the team Supervising work carried out by other members of the Development Planning team, ensuring that it is to the appropriate technical standard and is delivered to programme will be second nature to you
Along with your Degree/Masters qualification in Civil Engineering or Transport Planning or other analytical subject your understanding and experience in the preparation of development related Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Access Studies, with some wider experience in technical design and Masterplanning and understanding of the role of Healthy Streets in site development and appraisal will be key.
Some understanding of other transport modelling software including one or more SATURN, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, TUBA, will be desirable for this role although not essential.
