Allen & York are engaged with a leading construction company as they look to recruit a Sustainability Advisor to join their Team to work on projects in the South West.
Your previous construction experience will lend itself really nicely but if you come from another sector where the synergies align, this could possibly work. You'll have experience of managing multiple projects at any one time, you'll have sound organisational skills and be able to communicate fluently and confidently via writing and verbally. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and legislation, together with carrying out BREEAM and LEED assessments, reporting against a range of KPI's, looking at broad sustainability issues such as supply chain and labour and looking at community issues and apprenticeship schemes (S61's), so both environmental and social elements of sustainability.
In addition to your understanding of BREEAM assessments, you'll have oversight of ISO 14001 and how to implement these, environmental legislation and how to approach circular economy and carbon reduction.
Based in the offices in Bristol, you'll split your time between the office and site visits and you'll act as one of the main points of contact for sustainability issues, including waste management, pollution, noise and dust and you'll conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with regulations. You'll also be responsible for delivering training to non sustainability professionals and help to develop programmes and procedures.
You'll have a relevant environmental/sustainability degree and be a member of a relevant environmental association.
