Allen & York are proud to be working with a leading insurance provider who are looking to recruit a Head of Sustainability to deliver their sustainability strategy which aligns with a wider Group strategy.

This is a super opportunity to join a progressive business who are committed to adopting a more sustainable approach and indeed have a range of initiatives in place already but you'll be awarded a great amount of autonomy to drive forward progress.

As the business looks to decarbonise, explore their supply chain in more detail, report on sustainability data, look into more sustainable technologies and circular business models, they need you, with your extensive sustainability expertise and proven experience of having supported businesses, either in a consultancy or inhouse capacity, and your ability to collaborate with numerous stakeholders within the business, find out about the different sectors and what the challenges are. In addition, you'll be advising on climate risk mitigation strategies and regulatory submissions, managing ESG metrics and creating material for communication, both internally and externally. The latter is a key part of the role as they focus on engaging customers, creating a compelling narrative, educating them and influencing them.

You'll ideally have experience of science based targets, Scope 3 Carbon reporting, auditing carbon footprints and also experience of the social side of sustainability, exploring the social impact of activities and how this can be integrated into the strategy. Your communications skills, organisational skills, ability to prioritise, analyse data and report on this is vital, as is a real passion for sustainability, being innovative and a self starter.

Based in the South East in one of two locations, you will be able to work on a hybrid model with 2-3 days in the office and the remainder from home if you wish and a competitive salary and package is on offer to the right candidate.
