Job description
Allen & York are really excited to be partnering with one of the UK's international airports as they look to recruit a Sustainability Executive to focus on the charity and community sector.
Based in the Sustainability Team, you'll work closely with the Community & CSR Manager to help deliver the sustainability strategy, focussing on community, social value and charities and working alongside another Sustainability Executive who's focusing on environment and climate change. In particular, you'll develop community programmes like charity events and supporting school programmes in addition to initiatives to make the supply chain more sustainable. Reporting will form a part of this role as well. As such, you'll have sound analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
A large element of the role will be to work with the Connect School and Enterprise, helping to grow the 'Get Into Airports' apprenticeship programme to get people into paid employment. You'll be required to attend weekly and monthly meetings so excellent stakeholder management and diplomacy skills will be required, together with a personable character. You'll enjoy dealing with people, getting to know them and developing a rapport with them and you'll be passionate about sustainability and community.
As mentioned, you'll also have good analytical skills and experience as you will be required to pull together data for meetings and presentations and you'll be able to compile slides using PowerPoint, extracting relevant information to drive forward and embed initiatives.
You'll also act as a catalyst for expanding the number of sustainability champions in the business, making the airport the organisation to look at when it comes to CSR and community involvement. Fundraising, charity collections and events are really important and the organisation of these will form part of your role. As such, you'll be proactive, have strong organisational skills and be able to manage your team and priorities.
Based just outside London to the north, you will need to be able to access the airport 2-3 days a week but they are operating a hybrid model so you can work some of the week from home and you'll receive a competitive salary and package.
This is a really exciting opportunity for someone with 3-4 years' experience in a similar role who will work with a great team of committed sustainability professionals all striving to make their airport the beacon for sustainability. So to be considered for the role, please call Katie on 01202 888986 ext 207.
