Reinvent the wheel.
Make it leaner. Make it greener. Make it sustainable.
As a Sustainability Manager you will be doing just that: recommending changes to materials, processes and products to benefit the planet.
Your interest and studies in environmental and sustainability haven't stopped at your degree: you have kept abreast of new advances and changes that allow manufacturers, product designers and packagers to be as responsible in their choices as possible.
Your creative thinking and collaborative approach to work will support your colleagues' reverse engineering of their designs to ensure only the greenest materials are used, the businesses you work with are measured and improved, and the entire supply chain is analysed and audited.
Communication is key here - you will be communicating and guiding colleagues within and without - liaising with contacts at different levels in clients' businesses. This is your platform to communicate your passion for sustainability, and to make your ideas real with practical and workable suggestions.
A sustainability plan, like the planet, is organic. It shifts and evolves. As the in-house sustainability expert, you are up to date with initiatives in the industry, and come up with a few of your own, to ensure your sustainability plan is adapting and evolving, reinvented to meet the ever changing needs of your clients, the changing legislation, and the changes in the world around us.
And as you are at the forefront of your game, so too is the company you will work for. Working hours and holidays have been reinvented with an unlimited allowance and flexi time outside of core hours. Culture is so important here that regular team events, beers on Friday and breakfast mornings keep the team together and rewarded for their hard work. You can take advantage of a number of other benefits including salary sacrifice schemes including childcare vouchers, season ticket and bike loans.
