Job description
Allen & York are working with a leading South East property developer as they look to recruit an experienced Sustainability Manager to join their established Team.
Based in their London offices, there will be an opportunity for you to adopt a hybrid working model but with managing two junior Team Members, visibility is required to adequately guide and mentor them. You will also need to be present on site to engage with the contractors, identify any issues which need addressing, ensure compliance with legislation, conduct training and making sure the group sustainability strategy is implemented and drive innovation and best practice. So, it's very much a hands on role.
In addition to the environmental elements of sustainability such as science based targets to reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions, you'll also be aware of and ideally worked on social value and be familiar with modern production processes and looking at the supply chain.
The obvious fit would be for someone to come with construction sector experience as the company and sector is very dynamic and as such, you'll be able to hit the ground running. You'll be joining the division of the business which delivers 20% of the overall renevue so again, your capacity to get up to speed and preempt situations will be required.
As you'll be managing a Team, experience of having managed people before is needed, including managing their workload, allocating resources and being there to advise on technical sustainability issues. You'll have a wider network of sustainability professionals to draw on and share ideas with across the different divisions of the business.
